Our 2024 Homecoming Pep Rally will begin at 3:15 today in the gym. Seats will fill fast so we will open the doors at 3pm. Our homecoming court will be revealed for the first time during the pep rally. These students will also be announced during halftime of tonight's game.

Less than 30 minutes until the Wellington Lions Club Back to School Bash from 7 to 9pm at the Ritz Theatre Lobby. The Lions will provide free food and soft drinks for all high school students in attendance.
Homecoming week continued today with "Go for the Gold" as our students and staff dressed like their favorite Olympian or Olympic event. Tomorrow is hero 🆚 villain day! The medals worn by Mrs. Ashmore today were won by the 2018 UIL Spelling and Vocabulary Individual State Champion Sophie Brown and the 2018 UIL Spelling and Vocabulary State Runner-Up Team of Sophie Brown, Arturo Tellez, Jalee Davis, and Luke Williams. Mrs. Ashmore coached these spelling teams. Coach Klark Ashmore, not pictured, wore his 2013 state champion medal to school today. Coach Ashmore was the starting quarterback on that school history making team. 🚀🏆🥇🇺🇸🚀

Congratulations to WHS Senior, Mallory O'Rear on winning the title of Miss Cotton Country 2024 tonight in Hollis. WHS sophomore, Maggie Tillman, was named 2nd runner up. WHS freshman, Anna Needham also competed well. Mallory was crowned by Miss Cotton Country 2023 and WHS Class of 2024 graduate, Audrey Jones. Besides our three WHS ladies, Wellington Junior High and Wellington Elementary had beautiful girls compete in the Little Miss and Teen Miss Cotton Country pageants. Congratulations! 🚀👑

Angels Subs and Sweets and Brothers-Sisters of our Military Adventures have teamed up on Fridays to give away a free lunch gift certificate to WHS students. Lady Rocket Cross Country finished as the first place team in the Rattlesnake Run in Guthrie today! This was their first team championship of the season. Individually, Taytum Kane led the way finishing as the first place gold medalist. The girls are coached by Savannah Sumrall Henderson. Great job Lady Rockets! 🚀🏆🥇🏃♀️🚀
