Teen Miss Wellington 2021 Harlee Gomez will give her crown away TODAY (Sunday, April 24th) in the high school auditorium. The pageants will start at 2pm with the Teen Miss Wellington followed by Little Miss and Junior Miss. Cost will be $5 at the door and all proceeds will go to scholarships for our graduating seniors!


One act play cast and crew will be pulling into town around 12:30. Sorry for the delay, but these kids have been up since 6am. Their technical rehearsal was at 7am this morning, they performed at 2pm, and awards weren’t announced until after 8pm. Show your support by welcoming them back to town even if you are in your pajamas!

For the first time since 1981, Wellington High School One Act Play is going to state! We did it Wellington!!! Awards will be posted soon, but please be watching for a time to welcome home our state advancing play with a police escort!

Here are the final results of the regional academic competition held yesterday on the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Results were not fully posted until after 3pm today.
Congratulations to Madeleine Kane. She placed 3rd in Ready Writing at the UIL Regional Academic meet, earning a place at the State UIL competition in Austin on Friday, May 6.
Congratulations also goes to Suzi Lopez. She placed 6th in the Social Studies competition at the UIL Regional Academic meet. She, Nick Self, and Martin Perez placed 2nd as a team and are the state alternate team. 🚀🚀🚀

Blood drive is this Wednesday at the Wellington Ambulance Barn from 3 to 6pm.

Our Skyrockets put up a fight, but fell to the Clarendon Broncos by a final score of 4 to 6 this afternoon on Senior Night. Pending the outcome of the next few games, Rockets should finish as the district runner-up and second seed in the UIL state baseball playoffs. Thanks for a great season to our seniors Creighton Killian, Marc Ramirez, Antonio Rodriguez, and Kayden Valles. 🚀⚾️🚀



The regional golf tournament is complete and WHS junior Caleb Weinette has advanced to state as an individual! He placed 4th overall in the competition, but advances to state as the 2nd individual medalist. He broke 80 for the first time in a high school golf tournament with a score of 79. Caleb is the son of Gene and Brandi Weinette. Congratulations Caleb! The state golf tournament will be played May 9th and 10th at Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin. Great season Skyrocket golf!

It’s senior night at the ballpark tonight as our Rockets host the Clarendon Broncos in a game that will decide the district champion. Let’s pack the park and cheer loud for the red and white as we honor Kayden Valles, Marc Ramirez, Antonio Rodriguez, and Creighton Killian. You won’t want to miss tonight’s game at 4:30.
