Your Wellington ISD Principals and Athletic Director want to welcome you back to the 2022-2023 school year. Here are some interesting facts about us! We’ll continue to introduce you to our teachers and staff during the first few weeks of school.
As a reminder, all WHS students including seniors with a senior free should report to the auditorium at 8:30am on the first day of school for a brief back to school meeting. Remember, dress code goes into full effect the first day of school.

It’s time for Skyrocket 🏈 and we are so excited!! Our 2022 football shirt is featured in WHITE or SILVER performance and grey cotton. The shirt will feature the varsity roster and cheerleaders on the back. We have youth sizes also! The store closes at noon on Tuesday, August 16. This was the deadline we had to meet to get them prior to our first home game. We are also featuring a black hat and the shipping will be a little later than the shirts. It’s football time! Get your first glimpse of Skyrocket football TODAY in Childress. JV football will kick things off at 5pm followed by varsity at 6pm. Go Rockets go! 🚀🏈🚀
It's time to sign-up for a parking spot! Come by the high school office on Thursday, August 11th at the time assigned to your class. We will start with seniors to give our upperclassmen first choice.
Laptop pickup is this Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm for all junior high and high school students.
Laptop fee is $40 for 1 student, $70 for 2 students and $100 for 3 students or more. Only cash or check will be accepted! 💻 🚀
Tomorrow is August 1st, which means it’s time for football and summer workouts. All high school boys in athletics will have their first workout of the season from 8am to 11:30am. All high school girls in athletics will meet in the weight room at 8am. Runners will meet with Coach Brown at 7am. Girls will be done by 10am. It’s going to be a great year Skyrocket Nation!
As a reminder, new students to Wellington ISD can complete new student registration on their respective campus from 9am to noon tomorrow (Monday, August 1st). Please bring your birth certificate, immunization record, and social security card. We can't wait to meet you!
Online registration is now open for all students returning to Wellington ISD.
1. Visit our district website at www.wellingtonisd.net
2. Under the "Staff Resources" tab, click on "Ascender Parent Portal."
3. Log in using your credentials from last school year. Do NOT click on new student registration.
4. Click "registration" for your child and complete the forms.
5. Tell your friends with students in Wellington ISD you completed online registration and encourage them to do the same.

Wellington FFA had 3 students receive their Lone Star Degrees this afternoon at the Texas FFA State Convention. This is the highest degree recognition a student can receive at the state level. Congratulations to our 3 recipients! 🚀🚀🚀

Class of 2022 graduate Madison Waters walked across the stage at the Texas FFA State Convention today in Ft Worth to receive her Houston Livestock Scholarship. The scholarship is for $20,000 this year and is renewable for an additional $20,000 next year. 🚀🏆🚀
Welcome to Wellington Coach Cade Brown! He will be our new head girls basketball and cross country coach and will be teaching at the high school. His wife, Colin, will also be teaching in the district. Go Lady Rockets! 🚀🏀⛹🏽♀️🏃♀️🚀
WHS student Harlee Gomez ran barrels last night at the Texas FFA State Convention rodeo. Mr. Taylor has 10 students in Ft. Worth for the state convention.
WHS junior, Kaseten Welch, has spent two week at Camp on the Coast attending acting and movement classes. He has also been cast in the final show The Monster Calls. He performed today, July 1 at 10 am at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Way to represent WHS Kaseten.
The Greenbelt Jr Golf Association for Kindergarten through 12th grades concluded today. Golfers played in tournaments the month of June on Mondays and Thursdays. Towns included Shamrock, Roaring Springs, Clarendon, Mangum, Memphis, Altus, Wellington, and Childress. Golfers had to play in 5 tournaments for final points awarded. Caleb Weinette placed 1st overall and Dakota Marshall placed 3rd overall. Congratulations to our Skyrockets! 🚀⛳️🚀

Class of 2022 graduate, Madison Waters, received the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship through the Texas FFA for the amount of $20,000. This scholarship is a contest for Texas FFA seniors competing all across Texas. Congratulations Madison! 🚀🚀🚀
Wellington FFA members attended the banquet at the Area 1 FFA Leadership Camp held at Clarendon College in Clarendon this week.

Wellington FFA members completed a three day camp at Frank Phillips College in Borger. Xcel Energy funds the camp and invites students from around the area to come and learn about electricity. Representing WHS was Barret Phillips, Kaseten Welch, and Lisette Vela.
